On a windy April day in the year 2001 a piece of history was taken from our
area by an afternoon fire. As a
person who lived across the field from this landmark it was sad for a number of
reasons. The main reason being that a family lost the place they called home.
But there also had been extensive restoring to the house for a number of months.
Many hours and a substantial amount of money had been spent on this great piece of
history. Before the restoration began the house was not lived in for at least 20 years and to
see someone bringing life back to it and calling it home was really encouraging.
The house was built during the 1860's and for that era was full of amenities such
as radiated heat and indoor plumbing just to name a few. So these pictures
have been published to this web site in memory of a passing landmark.
